This past week was a food event unlike any other. With a focus on community spaces that come and go but are never forgotten, Los Perros Locos’ Alex Mitow took over the now defunct Noah’s Ark Deli and Restaurant (399 Grand Street) for a four-day long event with underground arts, music, and delicious culinary revelry.
Each night delivered a different and unique experience, bringing together a motley of interacting dishes, performances, and musical choices meant to celebrate and redefine the All-American diner.
Some highlights from each day are below.
- Thursday April 17th Alex Mitow joined forces with Time Out New York for the event opening. Guests were treated to a night of American Folklore reinvented, with a communal family style meal.
- Friday, April 18th turned the deli into a Disco Night with Pink Castle sliders, Disco Biscuits and Tricky Disco Fries.
- Saturday, April 19th the diner was turned Pan-American with a Pan-Latin Night featuring whole roasted pigs and mofongos.
- Sunday, April 20th closed out the four-day event with an open party filled with complimentary food and drinks all night long.
