Restaurant: Clinton Street Baking Company – 4 Clinton Street between East Houston & Stanton Streets, Manhattan, New York
As I mentioned in a blog post at the beginning of the month, February is pancake month at Clinton Street Baking Company.
I headed over to Clinton Street on the 13th to try out some of the special pancakes of the day – Japanese pumpkin pancake, pumpkin seed streusel, warm maple butter.
After ordering, three enormous pancakes stacked on top of each other arrived. After pouring the maple butter over the top, I dove right in. These pancakes were fluffy and light. The pumpkin topping, while not my favorite flavor, complemented the pancakes nicely. My favorite part of the entire breakfast-for-dinner meal was the pumpkin seed streusel. It was extremely sweet and gave the pancakes a nice crunch with every bite. These pancakes were so big that I was unable to finish them and left about three bites on my plate as I rolled myself out of the restaurant.
Pancake month at Clinton Street Baking Company is a must for anyone that enjoys pancakes. While some flavors are admittedly better than others, regardless of the day, these pancakes are fluffy and delicious. From what I’ve heard, Clinton Street’s other menu items are also as equally tasty and I will definitely be back to give them a try.
For those of you that haven’t made it to Clinton Street yet. Below is a list of the remaining days and flavors:

- 23 · 24 fresh coconut pancakes, kumquat syrup, bruleed bananas
- 27 · 28 · 29 chocolate chunks, fresh raspberries, raspberry-caramel sauce
