Schmackary’s Cookies

Restaurant: Schmackary’s – 362 West 45th Street, Manhattan, New York

Just the place for theatergoers and the hungry midtown work crowd, Schmackary’s is a cookie hot spot. This cookie factory features a daily rotating selection of cookies from its menu, including favorites such as the Classic Chocolate Chip and top-seller Maple Bacon. Everything is baked on premises and from just chatting with the employees behind the counter, it’s clear they love their cookies here.

So many cookies!

Aside from incredibly delicious cookies, Schmackary’s has a great story behind it. The whole cookie genius started when a Broadway hopeful moved to New York City back in 2008 and was an aspiring actor by day, baker by night. After growing popularity (of his cookies), he decided to turn a hobby into a business. Now he’s got $1+ million in sales and landed his spot on Broadway, just not how he originally planned.

The cookies at Schmackary’s are pretty big so don’t forget to share!

The different flavors taste exactly how they’re supposed to. Cookies and Cream tasted like it. Blueberry Cobbler tasted like my mom was behind the counter baking a pie. Mint mojito made me feel like I should have had a slight buzz.

The Verdict

Next time you’re seeing a show or just up in the theater area, check out Schmackary’s. The cookies are deliciously enormous, flavorful and many are coated with sugary sweet icing. With a rotating list of cookies, there will be enough variety to keep you coming back for many weeks to come. Just be sure to bring friends!
